The Flatbed

An unusual plane that can fly very well, but tends to need a lot of "fine tuning" to achieve this.

Here goes.....

Take an A4 piece of paper and fold over diagonally as shown above, open out, and repeat on the other side to form a cross.

Fold back widthways where the two folds from the previous step cross.

Pull the fold made in the step above down and in, to form a triangle.

Fold the left point of the triangle to meet the top of the triangle, and likewise for the right, to from a diamond ontop of the triangle, as shown.

Fold the bottom left side of the diamond onto the centre, likewise with the right side.

Fold down the small triangle left at the top of the folds made in the previous step, tucking the folds from the previous step into the triangle you are folding down. Then turn the paper over.

Now fold over wings into the centre.

Now fold the wings back on themselves.

Opening up the plane, you end up with this.

You can now try out different wing angles of both the vertical and horizontal parts to find the best angle for flight.

When 'fine tuning' this plane, and of the back part of the plane can be used. Both the horizontal and vertical part of the wings, aswell as the main flatbed part can be tuned.
