This is a greeting and a message from the GENERAL STRIKE COUNCIL (CGH), the student organization that has maintained a strike in the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) for almost 11 months. This effort is made against the capitalist-neoliberal projects, of privatization of public education, ordered by the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.

With this message we begin the task of organizing internationally, which is the responsibility of the International Committee of the CGH. Although this first greeting will be sent by various routes, the international email address is:

If you like, we will inform you via this address (or another address that you provide) about the development of the movement, currently in a critical stage. For this reason, we are promoting two actions on a global scale:

INTERNATIONAL ACTIONS AGAINST REPRESSION AND IN SUPPORT OF THE STRIKE AT UNAM. Such actions are proposed for Friday, January 28, to coincide with the next mass mobilization of the CGH, AND

INTERNATIONAL ENCOUNTER OF STUDENTS IN DEFENSE OF FREE, PUBLIC EDUCATION. – We are developing a survey to decide the dates, content, and format.

Este es un saludo y un mensaje del CONSEJO GENERAL DE HUELGA (CGH), organo estudiantil que desde hace casi 11 meses sostiene la huelga en la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Esta actividad se efectúa en contra de los proyectos capitalistas-neoliberales, de privatización de la educación pública, ordenados por el Banco Mundial y el Fondo Monetario Internacional.

Con este mensaje iniciamos de manera organizada el trabajo internacional, el cual está bajo responsabilidad de la Comisión Internacional de CGH. Aunque este primer saludo se enviará por diversas vías, el correo electrónico internacional del Consejo es:
