Commissioned Noe Hernandez to design a painting depicting the role that
global faith communities should be playing in the fight against
HIV/AIDS. |

Cultural Identity Workshop Washington DC. March-April 2001 |
Taught different drawing and painting
techniques teach, to a diverse group of Latino/a teenagers, to use art
as a tool to reinforce their cultural identity. |

Pedro Slim's Photography Workshop: "The Body
as an Obsession" |
Learned different photography techniques
including the combination of body painting and photographic staging. |

Mario Santander's Stained Glass and
Glass-Mosaic Workshop Mexico City, Mexico 1999 |
Participated with the Association of Glass
Artists in a one year workshop and learned the techniques of stained
glass and glass-mosaic collage. |

Hispanic Creative Artists’ Group, Rutgers
University, New Brunswick, NJ 1996-1999 |
Developed and participated in artists’ collective
working group sponsored by the Dodge Foundation at the Latino Center
for the Arts and Culture that combined mural painting, visual arts,
theater and dance. Contributed to the final collective piece by
creating an in-house stage for the collective’s final project. |

“Nuestras Voces" Magazine, New Brunswick, NJ 1996- 1998 |
Founded, directed and edited a local magazine
project that collected the work of Latino/a artists including both
graphic arts and written material. The magazine was distributed
in NY and NJ. |

Migration Experience United States 1989-1999 |
Migrated to the United States in 1989 and
experienced first hand the challenges of being a Latino immigrant in
the U.S. Through community involvement became acquainted with the
immigrant community and the Chicano artistic movement in Los
Angeles and San Francisco, CA. Moved to New York City in 1991, where
influenced his creative work by the diverse artistic trends found in
that city. |

Jaime Amado's Art Studio, Mexico City, Mexico 1978- 1988 |
Under the tutelage of Jaime Amado, a well known
Mexican Artist, developed initial abilities in the plastic arts,
including the techniques of drawing, oil painting, and pastel. |
