 Thalia began her whopping musical career at the young age of nine. She began
with the group named "Din Din" She released four LP's with them. Thalia was
taking her first steps into stardom back in the 1980's.
Her next step was to be a member of the young teen group-Timbiriche. At
the time she performed side by side with Eduardo Capetillo, Bibi Gaytan,
Paulina Rubio, Mariana Garza and other singers. She was the replacement for Sasha.
At the time she sang adorable songs with innocent lyrics. Nobody had in
mind that Thalia was on the bound to become a solo singer. What she sang
next was a shock to her country.
In 1990, Thalia released her first album under the guiding light of her
good friend, and later boyfriend, Gustavo Diaz Ordaz. She performed songs such as
"Saliva" in her first
solo Album entitled Thalia. Thalia released songs with polemic names
such as "Sudor" and "Sangre"; all name of bodily fluids that begin with the
letter "S", which other fluid is missing??!! Mexico criticized but then
learned to accept her
music. Today she is one of Mexico's best and most loved latin-pop figures in the music
industry. Since 1990 and on, Thalia has been releasing hit after hit on
the airwaves. Piel Morena was even voted Song of the Decade at Univision.com
Singles such as "Piel Morena"," Amor A La Mexicana", "Arrasando" , "Tu Y
Yo" , and her latest "I Want You" have caused music sensation all around the Globe.
Thalia has not yet finished releasing smash hits. In 2003, "I want you"
played on US English-speaking radio stations, and performed in the 2003
Jingle Ball in Los Angeles' Staples Center. Sharing the stage were Jessica
Simpson, Britney Spears, Beyonce, Hillary Duff, among many others.
In May of 2004, Thalia took her music on the "Thalia: High Voltage: tour
series in both Mexico and the United States. She performed songs from
Timbiriche, and singles from her early solo career as well as latest hits
such as "Accion Y Reaccion", and "A Quien Le Importa."
